The Evidence

This image was found in an authorized Gundam Wing
poker deck (hence the cut-off corners). It features the teenaged Lucrezia
Noin in a standard art-class nude pose.

The following conclusions may be drawn:
-
The artist was a student of art and this work was
either an assignment for class or a practice work.
-
Due to the naturalness of the pose, Lucrezia and
the artist appear to have been comfortable with each other's presence while
naked; thus it may be suggested that they are lovers.
Conclusions which have been drawn, but without direct
evidence:
-
Zechs is the artist. Given that he was from a background
that prized artistic endeavour, he would likely study art during his schooling.
-
Lucrezia does not appear to have had much social
interaction during her schooling; certainly she doesn't have any old schoolfriends
popping up out of the woodwork. The only person she appears to have been
close to is Zechs.
Thus, the conclusion has been drawn that Lucrezia
and Zechs were lovers during their schooldays.
The other side of the argument:
-
There is no direct evidence that the artist in question
is Zechs. It is entirely possible, given the very small amount of
Lucrezia's history that has been established, that she has been courted
by others in the past.
-
It is possible and has been suggested that the portrait
is not, in fact, of Lucrezia. Another character in the Gundam Wing Universe,
Hilde Shreibecker, is of similar physical characteristics and proportions
to Lucrezia and the portrait could be considered to be of a slightly older
Hilde.
-
It has been argued that the portrait could be of
a character from the Gundam X Universe, as images from that series were
included in the poker deck. However, the webmistress has viewed Gundam
X and can confidently tell you that this image is definitely not
from that series.
In conclusion, the webmistress remains
convinced that this image is a portrait of the teenaged Lucrezia Noin,
and the artist was Zechs Merquise.
